Driver's License Issue !?

I live in NC and have my limted learners permit. I've had it for a year and 3 months so I'm eligible for license.
Do I have to be on the insurance to go get my license, or does it not matter as long as the car is insured?
My friend got hers in September, and she said she didn't have to be on the insurance cause her car was insured; she didn't get her name on the insurance till October.
Is it okay if I'm not on the insurance when I drive ?

Is the car insured? If so, call the insurance agent and ask them. If not, you can call the DMV and ask them. Either one of them should be able to tell you the correct answer. If all else fails, ask your parents. They should know too.

i live in nc and just had a son turn 16 so he had to get his license we needed proof from my insurance company that he was covered when he passed the test the ins. company will give you a 123 form that has all your parents ins. info on it you need to take that form with you when you go to take your test

As long as the car you are driving has insurance its okay.
You dont have to have your name on the policy.
And also you don't have to have to be on the insurance to take the driving test. As long as the car is insured you are fine.
