the driver license expires on sunday march 1, and today is saturday, i was going to go get it renewed today, but dps only opens mon-fri..what do i do?? do i just wait till monday? am i in trouble? what is the best way to go in monday to get it renewed?

no your not in trouble dont worry about what that one just just said but he dont know what he is talking about. If a cop were to pull you over it wont be for your licence being expired. and If they pull you over just inform them that you could not get it renued till monday. they will let you go |

You might have to take your driving test again.
Not sure about Texas, but in Tennessee driver licenses can be renewed online. After doing a search, check the link below. You can renew it online. |

Don't be surprised if a couple of Texas Highway Patrolmen show up at your place around 2:00am. But seriously- Just get you license renewed asap. |

Officially, you are not allowed to drive at all after it expires. Therefore, you must not drive on Sunday (at all) or on Monday until after you renew. On Monday, either (a) walk there, (b) have someone else drive you, or (c) take a taxi, bus, train, etc.
Unofficially, if you do drive there and renew when you arrive, there is not a problem IF you do not get caught. However, if you do get caught driving with an expired license, then there is a problem. |

WHY DID YOU WAIT SO LONG TO GET IT RENEW? WELL YOUR GOING TO HAVE TO WAIT FOR DMV TO OPEN UP. YOU CAN'T DRIVE THERE, IF THEY FIND OUT THAT YOU DROVE TO DMV WITH AN EXPIRED LICENSE THEY WILL RECONSIDER NOT GIVING YOU THE LICENSE. ASK SOMEONE TO DRIVE YOU OVER THERE AND GET IT RENEW. ONCE YOUR LICENSE IS RENEW YOU CAN DRIVE AGAIN. |
