ok so i live in CA im freshman in high school and ill be 15 1/2 in april. My school has drivers ed but u can only take it as a sophmore. By then ill be 16, and i want to get it earlier. My friend told me about this program his sister took and they have an online course and then they send an instructor out to ur house for actual drivers training, and im gonna do that. My question is will the CA DMV let me get my permit with that course completion or do i need the one from school to?

Driving Instructor (BRAKE!)

The majority of students are completing drivers ed. online. Some of the websites are below. You only need to take a SINGLE driver ed. course - either from your school (very rare for schools to be offering) online or private driving school classroom.
When you complete the course, you'll be give an official document called a Certificate of Completion. Hang on to this.
You'll also need a Certificate of Enrollment from the Behind-the-wheel driver training school you select. Ask friends for recommendations!
BOTH Certificates must be presented at the DMV when you take your permit test. Study the CA driver handbook before taking the permit test.
