no... that means you justs can't use that permit anymore, you'd have to have someone drive you to the DMV though...

Hope you select this as best answer and you better after previewing it I did not notice how much I wrote for you. First of all I will not respond unless I feel I can provide you or anyone else with the right answer after reading the responses given along with the question that is being asked with proper third party judgment' meaning hear you out, hear the situation out and than including my genuine feedback or statement.

Do you have to get another driving permit to proceed with getting your license?; is the question.

If you are under the legal age in your state to walk into a DMV without proof of drivers education and a permit to obtain a license, than you have to show proof of drivers education, your permit may have been issued and may have expired. However if your drivers education was passed by you and was conducted through a valid source than you are eligible to walk into a DMV and take your written and physical driver test before any type of expiration date associated with your course.

Please keep in mind what was said by another person who answered your question, you cannot drive to the test.

Hope you get your license, I received mine on my 16th birthday in California. I was knocking on the doors of the DMV.

You should have no problem in going and getting your license, you were already issued a permit, that means that you are more than ready to get your license, all you have to do now is pass the written test and the driving test. Do not become nervous during the driving test, try not to focus on you being analyzed by the conductor and focus on the way your driving; keep your eyes on the road and other vehicles. Be kind, respectful and polite to the person who is taking you out for the driving test. They conduct tests all day long and love a ride in the car that seems routine of a passing applicant.

I will cross my fingers for you and hope that everything goes good for you ok. You already took your class and had your permit you know how to drive and in a few months you will be able to do it with your eyes closed and in your sleep.

The easiest way to find out is go to the DMV and ask or call a driver education teacher to see.It allot harder to get a person on the phone at the DMV so I would go down there and see.Good luck.
