so my friend was telling me in class that you will have to be 16 to get your permit not 15 anymore and 17 to get your lisence here in oregon i guess there going to pass a law this month this anyone know if its true

That is a rumor that has been going on for some time now & in many states. Most of the time it's also stating if you were born after 1992 you can not get your permit any longer at 16. These are false rumors and nothing has changed in Oregon or any other state.
Your friend is wrong & you can still get your permit at 15. (Edited age from 16 to 15. Typo on original response.) |

i am in oregon and was just at dmv last week and asked this very question because my son will be turning 15 this year. it's 15 for permit and 16 for license. |
