My dad just totaled my car. Needless to say, I am pissed, but that isn't the point. If he drives to a rental car agency and rents a car, is there any way he can make it so that I can drive it?
I really need a car to get myself between work, school, and sports and if I can't then, well, I'm screwed.
A rental car is part of the insurance that was on my car by the way. Don't know if that makes a difference.

Just dont speed, and drive normal. And dont crash. Cops wont give you any problems, now if your speeding or wreaklessly driving in it, thats a different story. |

No matter your age, if you aren't listed as a driver on the rental agreement, you cannot legally drive a rental car. You would be considered to be in possession of property you do not have the right to possess. Most rental agencies don't allow people under 21 to drive a rental car. Those that do will charge extra for the privilege. |

if the rental car is a part of your insurance make your insurance company set up the rental for you. it's their responsibility, even if that costs them extra. don't worry about him, that's what you pay them for. |

If you're under 21, no rental car agency will let you drive their car.
How about, dad drives the rental, and you drive HIS car? |

Most rental places won't rent to anyone under 25, so if the car is intended for you, Dad will have to make sure the rental place knows this. Possibly he could drive it and let you use his, but you can ask. Driving without their knowledge and permission could void the rental contract and leave you driving a "stolen" car. |
