Driving with no insurance?

Will I still get 6 points on my license if I'm caught driving a car that's insured to my dad while he's still in the car. Additional Details I'm not insured to his policy, if I was I wouldn't be asking, problem is the price is way to high if I'm added(over 4k)

Of course...if you crashed into another car your father's insurance wouldn't pay out because you're not a named driver. That's the point of having named drivers.
There is a reason that the premium is high....you are a much greater risk. Remember, if you are caught the police have the power to impound your father's car and he would have to pay £150+ to get it back! He might even be prosecuted for allowing an uninsured driver to drive it.
Don't be so selfish, either let your father drive or pay the extra premium or get your own car which requires a smaller premium.
Why the thumbs-down??...would you like it if an uninsured driver wrote off your new car but the insurance company wouldn't pay out? You'd have to lose your no-claims bonus at least.
Uninsured drivers are a menace and should be stamped out!! |

Yes, unless you're named on the insurance policy for the car. |

autoinsurance.hotusa.org - check these plans. As I know their rates for bad driving record is not such expensive as from other companies. |

I just don't believe you ask this question. Your father will also be charger with aiding and abetting and should be ashamed of himself.,
4k for insurance. It must be a big/fast car. 1k maximum for new drivers. |

Do you have your own insurance? If so you are covered 3rd Party only if you drive with your father's permission.
If you do not have your own Insurance you are not covered & would be prosecuted |

Mostly there are wrong answers here so far.
You may be covered if your dad has "permissive use" on his auto insurance policy. But even then the insurance company will probly pay a claim for you but there is no guarantee because you are not listed on the policy and you are suppose to be listed IF you live with him in the same household.
If your dad has a "named driver" policy then you are not covered because you have to be named on the policy. If he has this type of policy I would switch companies to one that has "permissive use". |

Not if his insurance covers you as well. If you have your own car insurance it should cover you to drive his car under a Third Party clause |
