Driving without licence and no insurance?

Hopefully they will get sent down for a couple of months..... Why do people do this?

More than likely they will get a fine and a ban for a year or so and perhaps be made to do some community service.

Hopefully they will have learnt their lesson and get insured and a licence. If they hit someone or damaged another car the other person loses out and I've had that happen to a good friend. Her car was written off due to an uninsured driver and she was completely out of pocket - she nearly lost her job over it - so I hope that your friend just thinks about the consequences of their actions.

Knowing our court system it will be a 6 month ban, Â£250 fine paid off over 10 years and 10 points on the licence.

Unfortunately, whatever they do to him it won't be tough enough.
If you've ever been the victim of an uninsured driver then you will have no sympathy whatsoever for the selfish git who has put his own pleasure before the safety of other people.

Far too many people have been killed or maimed by unlicenced drivers. If they really could drive properly and respected other people then they would have a licence.

Those are both serious infractions. I wish I could tell you they'll go to jail, but that won't happen. Several hundred dollars in fines, most likely.

Unlikely, unfortunately, to go to prison - there's no room. The court, however, will throw the book at him/her/it for such a stupid action.
It'll be a BIG fine, almost certainly community service, and a nice array of points all ready to go on the licence as and when they ever get one.

My daughters boyfriend has been doing this for the last 4 years, he has never had a licence but has managed to get points on it. They just keep fining him but the last time they gave him a fine and community service but he had been caught five times.
Try not to worry they will give them a fine and a caution at first but it stays on there criminal record.
The amount of the fine will depend on whether they are working or have dependant children.

Thats a big trouble. For driving a car without a license it will cause him a big fine, and for without car insurance it might put him in jail because he is violating the law. Thats bad. Why did they do it? If I were the judge I,d make them pay. Hefty fine, ban, and afew mths behind bars should do it. Just read in local paper this bloke did the same and he got 6mths in jail. I,d say bye bye to them now if I were you. Tell them you,ll see them after xmas.

Usually they'd get arrested and depending on their record would depend if they are released or not. Depends on a lot of things - what State you are in, his/her age, reason for driving with no license - as to the penalty. But he/she could get jail time. Definitely a fine of some kind, depends on the judge as to how much of a fine. Judge could also suspsend jail time if they have nothing else on their record.
