I assume you are asking for 3rd party only. There's not much point otherwise, if the car is worth nothing. Even then, you can volunteer to take a huge excess. This effectively means your insurance is worthless to you but makes you legal.
However, the bottom line is that you have picked the wrong car if you are a first timer. You are, statistically, dangerous in that car. Why not cut your losses, get rid of the Suzuki and find something in Insurance Group 1 or 2? |

The simple reason your being asked to pay so much is because your peers are a bad risk to insurers.
All you can do is build your no claims bonus and then your premium will drop.
No I dont think the cost of insurance should drop, Personally I'd like to see the young scroats priced off the road. |

As a 40 year-old with a full no-claims bonus I'll make you sick by telling you I pay under £400 for fully comp on a group 16 Alfa Romeo! So that's what you've got to look forward to if you keep out of trouble!
Seriously though, I do sympathise with young first time drivers when the insurance costs more than the car. Keep shopping around though, try all the online companies and even the supermarkets are worth a go.
Sadly the truth is that you're bang in the danger zone for insurers, statistically guys under 25 are far more likely than average to have a crash, so all you can do is drive well and build up a no-claims bonus. |

As far as I am aware, that car is Group 2, nearly but not quite the cheapest group to insure. That honour falls to Group 1.
However, your problem is that you have no experience and belong to the most claim-provoking group of people, young males under 25; whatever you find will not be cheap, but it will get better. Have you tried confused.com?
Don't be tempted not to bother, courts view a lack of insurance very seriously and ANPR technology is catching out more and more every day. |

I don't work for any insurance company, but I appreciate why your quotes are so big. You need to choose a car in a different class for insurance purposes and have the excess a bit higher. I know this will only make a small difference but you are in an age group which attracts the most accidents. Don't blame the ins companies, they are obviously in business to make money and they would lose it hand over fist if they insured high risk people at cheap rates. |

i'm with diamond which is a womens only insurance. one thing to look at is ur excess. if u increase this a bit more then ur price will drop slightly. BUT. you don't really want a high excess. if u crash thats what u pay so it's kinda catch 22 lol.
try searching insurance brokers online, those that bring up diferent insurance companies at once.
other than that i'm a bit stuck tbh. u r a young male and although u might be a really good driver the statistics say the opposite, hence a higher insurance price.
just keep searching and good luck |

In the USA it costs considerably more for a male driver under age 25 to get insurance. They are in the high-risk group and are the most prone to take dangerous risks. Things are changing and, in some cities, it is now a violation of the law for ALL drivers to talk on the cell phone or text-message while driving. Some new laws are being considered that prohibits a driver under the age of 18 from having more than one passenger in the car.
Is the 1300 quote for a period of one year or is it per month? |
