Exactly how do I get my driver's license in California?

I am 15 and a half and I live in California. I don't know where to begin. Can someone please give me all the steps towards getting my driver's license? Where do I start? Please help. I will choose a best answer.

Go to the DMV website (www.dmv.ca.gov) and download the drivers handbook (but don't print it. It's 87 pages) Look on pages 6-8. The process and requirements will be explained in detail. |

go to this site and start reading. you can get a provisional permit with parental sponsorship, but not a driver;s license.

AAA offers drivers education/drivers training. I did that and got my drivers license pretty quick. |

online drivers education...
get a certificate mailed to u when u complete it...
take that certificate with a couple other things to the dmv and take a written permit test...
schedule driving courses behind the wheel, u need at least 6 hours with an instructor before continuing...
6 months after u took the written test, u r eligable to take the behind the wheel test and get ur license...good luck =] |

first you need to go to the DVM and get a drivers hand book. Study it, then you need to go take a permit test. When you pass your test, you will have a provisional drivers permit that lets you drive in a certain time of day and night.after having your permit for about 3 months and your 16 years old then you can take your driving test and test out for your drivers license. |

First you have to take drivers training. It's offered at most high schools. Once you have completed that, you can take your test to get a learners permit. After you get your learners permit and become more comfortable with driving, sign up for on the road training through a driving school. Then you can take your driving test after you have done all of this and had your permit for a minmum of 6 months. |

1. make sure you completed a driver traing course at your school
2. sign up for incar driving instrutions from a driving school
3. once signed up you need to go to your local DMV and take the permit test ( an around forty question multiple choice test..pretty easy)
4. once passed you need to complete at least 3 driving lessons and than BAM you have your permit!!!
once you have completed i think fifty hours of driving with your permit and you are 16 you can go to the DMV and take your driver license test..once you pass you are licensed driver =) |
