Failed driving test 5th time,do i keep with it?

I've failed 6 times now because I got nervous and made silly mistakes. I now have my 7th test booked as I'm determined that I'm not gonna let a silly examiner get the better of me, I know I can drive, I just have to get over the nerves. And if I fail the 7th test, then I'll book the 8th, and so on until I pass. Just remember that you know you can drive, so just drive like you know that you can, and remember that failing is not the end of the world.

No problem ..... I failed my test 5 times as well ... principally through a combination of nerves and lack of adequate tuition. But then I got a decent instructor who recognised all of my silly mistakes and helped me through them. On my sixth attempt I passed with flying colours after sweating the nerves out the day before! Since then I have driven for 40 years, accident free and gained my Institute of Advanced Motorists in 1972. So all was not lost ... nor should it be for you! I suggest that you change your instructor ..... not that he/she is not great in your eyes .... but simply that you need a new approach to your driving tuition. The correct instructor is worth their weight in gold ..... and I think you simply need confidence more than tuition. Perhaps the right instructor can give you that? Good luck ....

Heaps of people dont get it for ages. The test is silly because its far too easy to fail. Of course keep going with it, smile and dont let it sink in. One day you'll laugh about it.

Here in Missouri they send you to driving school if you fail 3 times, just practice and keep at it is all I can say

Absolutely - crack on and try again.
For what it is worth, I learned to operate cars at age 13, so come 17, I failed twice through silly minor errors, like pulling up behind a truck too close to see the driver get out to use a 'phone box.
Also taking a test in a strange town, when the test bloke said "take the next right" The sign was behind a tree telling me at the last moment that it was a wrong-way, one-way street.
Hold on, I spake, I have failed, so be prepared for a rally style drive back to the test centre.
Third time lucky, driving like an elderly parson.

Possibly you are a tad nervous about the test - a lot to think about, but try and remember that you just know how to operate a car, you are in charge, and all you are doing is to keep the examiner happy.

you poor thing - but you must keep going. i passed on my fourth go and was getting despondent too - but just hang in on there kid you can do it.

perhaps remember all the things you did wrong and get someone to take you out for extra lessons and practice on those things. take deep breaths on the day - it will be worth it - dont be depressed - you can do it. x

I past my theory test on my 6th time!! lol

Havent sat my driving test yet though - dont want to think how many times that would take!!

Just keep at it.. I mean it must be alot of money you are spending on them - so maybe dont book your next test just yet.

Get your driving instructor to treat it exactly like as you would a test and get him to pretend to be the examiner to give you lots of practise.

Also before you do it, make sure you are very calm. That you have had a good night sleep before and that you feel fresh. When he says things to you, think first! dont just do it.

Also I got told that if you look into your mirror alll the time like every 10-15 secs its good! well thats what my friends have said who have passed! but i dunno ive not sat it yet.

Also try tricks like wear a red band on your right hand or a ring on your right hand to prevent stupid mistakes like mistaking left and right! aparantly its really common!

Never give up just continue practising and dont think of the bad things try to keep your nerves down when it comes to the test

U should just keep practicing...it could be that u do know wat to do, but ur probably just concentrating too much on not messing up that u actually do mess up...with more practice u'll get that feeling and sense of confidence that will allow u too feel that there's nothing to worry about!!!! if you are under 20 i wouldnt worry to much just keep practicing. mabe in another 6 months try again. give your self some time and then try again. time might be all you need.

i know someone who took a test for his friend and passed then got found out and now he is in prison apparently he did it for a living

Hey i have been since i was 9 years old so for me it is natural but you gotto keep in there and sometimes you might suprize yourself. A lot of top drivers in the world failed their own car tests.

If you keep making silly mistakes at this stage where you are completely focused on your driving and doing your best to do it right how many mistakes will you make when it's a secondary concern? So right now you're in a car and your one thought and purpose is simply to drive it. In the future you'll be driving but thinking about your route, thinking about what you have to do at work, thinking about that row with your partner and so on. Make silly mistakes when you're in sole charge of driving your car and you'll kill someone or yourself. If you've already noticed you're a bad driver be responsible and stay of the roads or end up killing someone. Someone's child or baby, someone's mother or father, sister or brother.

NO WHAT YOU NEED TO DO IS GO OVER EVERYTHING AND THEN WHEN YOU FEEL THAT YOU ARE READY, TRY IT AGAIN.

THE NEXT TIME JUST RELAX AND THE DON'T GET TOO COMFORTABLE WITH THE INSTRUCTOR, JUST REMEMBER WHAT YOU ARE DOING.
