I am 17 i understand that the insurance on a very fast car would be millions! but i was wondering does anyone know an old fastish car that the insurance isnt tonnes and tonnes of cash in the UK

u kd try a 1.8 gti golf, many of those range of models and litres apparantly got a top speed of around the 130-40mph and 0-60 around 9-10 secs range and they're yet reasonably cheap on insurance.
That's what I'm planning to get as my 2nd car, currently got a 94 reg corsa whcih is a bit crummy atm so looking soonish 4 a new one |

you'll probs find that old cars cost more to insure..
unless you're going to spend 2k+ on insurance, at your age you'll never really get anything "fast"
just get a car that looks good, and gets you from a to b |

hey, how about a toyota starlet glanza, 1.3 turbo?? i had one and if you find the right insurance they are dead cheap to insure. plus they are quite nice looking, hope this helps. xx |

Basically speed is equal to premiums. There is no magic solution to your problem. You lack experience and driving history. A fast (ish) car will cost in premiums. An older car may be easier to steal and costlier to repair = higher premiums.
At the end of the day you should acquire a small, newish car and build a claim free driving history. When you have full no claims bonus and are older, and therefor a better risk, you will get a better deal from the insurance firms. There is no fast track. |
