Fender bender today need HELP!!!?

Fenderbender today, the other driver was @ fault, I called my Ins. they told me to get a est. so i did $822.Got home tonight and had a message from the mother telling me she wanted 3 est. and wanted them faxed to her,I say yes but the more I think about it am I obligated to get 2 more est.?Or do I leave it to my Ins company to deal w/ her company?I don't have time to run all over getting est. and my car will be in the shop for @least 4 days! So what do I do?Anyone who has had this happen or maybe your a ins. person PLEASE give me info!!Thanks :)

I did call the Florida Highway Patrol,they wrote a accident report and ticketed her.While he was talking to the girl she told him she had to be in court the 15th for a accident she had in july.

I would let your insurance company deal with it. Out of pocket settlements rarely work out. I am against them. I have never seen one go well in my 16 years handling claims.

She is simply asking you to get estimates so she won't have to go through her insurance and raise her rates. If I were you I would go through her insurance and have them pay for it. This way it's legal and they'll pay for your rental car!

Not knowing what state you are in..I would say most states you contact your insurance company, fill out a police accident report from your local police station which you usually have to do within 10 of the accident..Get the estimate your insurance company ask for send it to them..Most Ins. companies tell you where to go get your car repaired or where they want you to get estimates but if not do as they say..as far as the other driver goes..She needs to deal with her own Ins.company. If she was at fault and the police were called then you got it made..If no Police then let your insurance company sort it out BUT MAKE DAMN SURE YOU GO FILL OUT AN ACCIDENT REPORT WITH YOUR LOCAL POLICE..very important..to protect yourself..Good Luck

This "Lady" is out of her gourd, you don't have to do nothing for, or with her. Call your ins. and tell them her demands and let them deal with it.That's what you are paying premiums for.

Just do what YOUR insurance says to do. You do not have to listen to the other person.

You didn't state if there was a police report or citation written, so I will assume not. I hope the other person doesn't change their story.

You don't have to get 3 estimates for ANYBODY,
if this wasn't your fault. It is YOUR car and you can take it where you want to have it fixed.

Besides an $800 dollar auto accident is nothing. The other party also owes you for a rental, the shop should order parts and have them on hand so the repair goes fairly quickly, so you only have the rental a few days.

Go through YOUR insurance company. They may recommend a preferred shop but you can pick where you want to go. Don't be shy about insisting that after-market parts NOT be used on your car. Your insurance company is there to service and support you. Remember all those premiums you have been paying? It's their time to perform. They should see that your car is repaired correctly and provide you with transportation while it's being fixed. They will pay the repair shop and collect from the other driver's insurance company.

ask your insurance company to recommend a place to get it fixed ...than get 2 more, ask about warrenty, ask about original parts or after market parts

I have been in two different car accidents. Neither one were my fault. However I had a big ordeal to get the insurance to take care of the problems. I would highly recommend going through your insurance for everything and confirm with them what you should do. That way everything is done leaglly. Also the person at fault's insurance company hopefully wont have to give you a hard time. Like what happened to me.

if YOU HAVE COLLISION INS. YOU COULD THROW THE BALL TO YOUR INS CO AND LET THEM SUBROGATE THE CLAIM...OR YOU COULD CHARGE THE WOMAN THE COST FOR EACH ESTIMATE AND YOUR TIME RUNNING AROUND, GIVE HER THIS OPTION..MAYBE SHE'LL BE HAPPY WITH THE EXISTING ESTIMATE.. DON'T FORGET THE RENTAL CAR WHILE YOUR CAR IS BEING REPAIRED...SHE IS GOING TO LOVE IT....I KNOW I DO!!! Don't think I spelled subbrogate correctly???

Well the thing about it is your insurance company needs to contact hers and also when you car would be in the shop the insurance company should pay for a loaner car for you to drive.
