does anybody know how much more it would cost for me to get one instead of my nissan xterra. i'm 19, never had an accident, have been driving for 2 years and i'm paying about 2000$ right now for a 2004 xterra, and would like to get a 2006 GT mustang. someone told me it would be an extra 2000$ a month for this car is it true? how does a car like this generally go for insurance wise?

sorry that was 2000$ a year extra, not a month lol. oh and my i've never had a ticket either if that means anything.

It will probably be $2000 extra a month.
But prices are coming down so it might even be the exact same price if you do some shopping around. Who know. This is yahoo after all so we can talk all day and still won't come up with a real price.

I would not trust any price that you get here. It will strictly be someones wild guess. There are so many different factors that go into the cost of insurance, such as your age, driving record, car VIN number (options) and the area in which you live. The best thing to do would be to call your insurance agent for a quoteas they should already have all of your personal info. |

Don't buy a car based on any wild guess but get quoted, it's free and quick and easy and that's how it is done.
If you have been driving 2 years you will know that already so why are you wasting time asking here. |

On average it would be about a 50 to 75% increase. With that being said, if you have liability only now, and need full coverage because of a loan, then your rates would double from the new 50to 75% increase. So if you are paying 2000/ year now then it would be about 3000 to 3500/ year. Then if you needed full coverage (and you are at liability only) then it would be about 7000/ year. For a 19year old, that is still a really good rate. |

Well, how does a mustang go insurance wise for a 19 years old... statistically 8 out of 10 years olds simply die on mustangs so you can guess how the insurance people like it.
I mean it isn't even some other car like an Oldsmobile or a Buick you mentioned exactly that one, the Mustang.. |
