hello so i got in to a wreck the day i got a new insurance company and i got the policy at 1pm on the 19th and i had a wreck on the 20th at 115am and now my insurance company (geico) is saying i wasn't covered at the time of the wreck i bought the policy online and printed out my information to give to the guy ugh i need my car fixed and the guy that i slid into is going to take me to court i had full coverage but i don know what to do??? help

So basically, you put in your info only a few hours before the end of business; so they likely didn't have time to process everything....
And you got into an accident barely 12 hours later.
If I was your insurance, I wouldn't cover you anyway. |

You need geico to put, in writing, to you, why they say you aren't covered.
It could be, that the time clock on YOUR computer, for YOUR computer printout, doesn't match their records. OR, it could be that the payment you gave, didn't "clear" - which would automatically void any coverage.
But if you have a BINDER showing you had coverage 12 hours before the accident, AND your payment didn't bounce, then it should be covered. You can file a complaint in writing to your state insurance department. You'd have to show the binder, and the written declination letter from Geico. |

That's bull ****. When you buy an insurance policy and pay for it online, it's assumed you're covered. But the coverage doesn't start until they process it. What you suppose to do? Stay home and don't drive until they process it? Insurance companies screw people. I would sue the insurance company in small claims court. Sounds like a Judge Judy case to me. |

PROGRESSIVE DID THE SAME ***T TO ME!!!! Somebody in the big house needs to do something about these people. I read somewhere that around 90% of insurrance is all profit. I say it's Bull! You can appeal and show proof of purchase date, time and all that, (several times) but not to be discouraging, it did me no good. Con artists is what they are, ya YOU mr car insurance salemen, is it hard to sleep at night knowing people pay millions for sometimes nothing, actually I'm sure it's not, just "part of the job". I took some advise and use a local and Allstate now. Clowns, if Istole from wal-mart I'd go to jail, but NO not you people CLOWNS LOL |
