YES, this is taken as you being a higher risk, even if you have a "No-Claimer" discount cover, they re-estimate "Risk" then give the % years "No-Claim" discount! |

Yep I'm afraid so!
Insurance companies charge you a huge premium just to cover you and then when you actually need to use their services they decide that you will have to pay more next time. They are only interested in making money. |

As long as you reported this to the police your rating will not change and your premium should not increase (assuming your insurer did not have a rate increase during the year). If you have a no claims bonus you may or may not lose this. |

Depends upon whether your car is recovered and in good condition. If you have to make a claim and do not have "no claims" cover I regret that your premiums could well rise. |

It shouldn't go up at all; companies usually surcharge you only for moving violations, such as speeding. If you were negligent and, say, left the keys in the car, the company could cancel or non-renew you because of that. |

My grandson stole my car. It was reported to the police. I did not press charges, after all it was my own grandson. Well that was stupid of me. There was no claim put in so it did not cost the insurance company a penny. After 35 years of driving with no accident or even a speeding ticket my insurance tripled!!! I have to deal with this increase for 5 years. |
