Go to your local courthouse and get an affidavit for lost title, fill it out, sign it and have it notarized and mail it in! You'll have your title with YOUR name on it in a few weeks! |

go to motor vech dept and apply for lost or stolen title, with the paper work you already have they will issue you a duplicate or a new one |

1. Your divorce papers should clearly explain who has possession of what. 2. If the title is in both names take the divorce papers to the dmv (hopefully the divorce papers say the vehicle is yours) and apply for a lost title, in your name only. JUst go show the bill of sale to the county clerks office and ask for a new title, tell them you lost the old one. |

The title is just a piece of paper and can be replaced, which you should do. What's really important here is the *name* on that title. |

if its in your name you can get a copy of the title from the state if in her name you need a court order |

You need to take her to court and have her give you the title or call an attorney first to ask if you can have her arrested for illegal possession or something like that. Call an attorney first, as you don't want to end up being sued yourself! |

Yes, if the title is in your name you can file for a lost title. In Texas you can get one in about a week. I'm sure in your area there is a Notary Public/Title office that does nothing but deal with these type of problems. |
