Having a 3.0 with teen insurance?

So my mom was going to add me to her insurance policy today but now she decided to wait until I have a 3.0. I was wondering if she could sign me up now and then take my grades to the insurance company in about 3 weeks when i have a 3.0 and get the discount. We have mercury insurance.

Also, I know that anyone who drives my parents cars are insured (with the exception of me) so I was wondering how that works. Is it anyone who is insured that can drive my parents vehicle or just anyone with a license? I'm asking because I was wondering if I could just drive my grandparents car and be covered.

You have to have the grades at the time you are added, because that is the date rates are locked in for the term.

thats what my dad did with me and my brothers, and if we didnt make the grades we had to pay for our insurance, but you could offer to pay the difference.
