I KNOW IM AT RISK FOR GETTING PULLED IN MY STATE(VA) BUT I WAS WONDERING CAN U GET PULLED IN ANOTHER STATE SUCH AS NC FOR THIS?? I HAVE TO DRIVE TO GET MY DAUGHTER ......DONT THINK THEY HAVE THE RIGHT BEING THAT ITS NOT THEIR JURISDICTION(IF THATS THE RIGHT WORD?)....PLEASE HELP!!! I WENT TO REGISTER MY VEH AND THEY TOLD ME I COULDNT UNTIL I PAY MY PERSONAL PROPERTY TAXES ON MY VEHICLE WHICH IS THOUSANDS DUE TO THE VALUE OF MY CAR....VA IS THE ONLY STATE THAT DOES THIS CRAZYNESS

you can get pulled over for an invalid registration in any state.
Va has always required your personal property tax on the vehicle to be current before you are permitted to register. As do many states. |

if you are driving in their state, then you are within their jurisdiction. So they can pull you over and give you a ticket. |

This isn't crazy... it keeps the rest of us drivers safe.
If you are caught in another State with an unregistered car, then they'll probably just arrest you, since you'll have an out-of-State driver's license. They'll assume you stole it.
If you can't afford to register the vehicle, then you clearly cannot afford to own the vehicle. Sell it and get a vehicle that is more appropriate for your standard of living. |

I live in NC and trust me, not only will they pull you over, but you will be very lucky if you are able to drive off. Most likely they will have the car towed and you will be in a bad situation. It is not worth the risk, take a bus. |

No matter what state you are in, your car has to have legal plates and minimum insurance coverages.
Get it registered and insured or you may find your car in the impound yard with a big fine and fee to get it out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
