Help my MOT due. Will it pass?

My fiat marea has a knocking coming from drivers front wheel. Was told that it might need a 'bush'. Will car get a fail on the mot for this. So I know weither to get sorted first. Anyone help me?

if its knocking its worn... it will fail... sorry

PS some garages charge a half fee if you take it away (come back within 10 working days) or free if they do the work... there is the odd garage out there that will do a 7 day free re-test - honest!!!

It depends on if the tester can find the reason for the noise.Sometimes the noise comes from a bush but there is no obvious wear evident.If there is wear anywhere on the steering or suspension it will fail if found

Worn bushes are a definite fail.
It has an effect on steering and braking and is therefore dangerous.

The worst thing about an MOT is it's most often other things than those you know about which cause the car to fail. It might be worth going for the MOT early and getting a list of all problems rather than getting one thing fixed and then having to go back to the garage. As a rule doing all the work at once is cheaper.

That`s included in the MOT so if its not in proper working order it will fail.

you dont have a hook up that will pass your car and just give you the sticker

I don't know about it failing for this particular fault... but a better idea is to take your car to a garage and ask them to do the MOT but fix anything that needs doing for it.

This will save you needing to pay for another re-test if it fails. Most garages do this if you ask. BUT if you just ask for MOT and it fails then you will have to pay again for a re-test... hence why this other option is better.
