I use Allstate. My rate doesn't go up for paying monthly and in fact they reduced my rate when I signed up for automatic withdrawl. Each time your policy renews you have the choice of makeing monthly payments for the full six months, or you can make big payments for three months or you can pay it all in full. You can even make payments in between or more than your monthly minimum (which makes the rest of your monthly minimum go down).
Good luck! I drive a sports car and so my insurance is pricey, plus I'm not 25 yet so I don't have the "mature" driver discount yet. They gave me a cheeper rate then Geico did. |

I tried confused.com and got a deal that i was tempted with, they then phoned me and when i said it was a little high they dropped it a few pounds and made me a better offer.
but you will be paying interest if you pay monthly, unfortunately. |

Thats the problem fella, they add an administration charge on when you pay monthly which ups the price!! Did you just look round at a few different companies? or use a comparison site? I tried using norwhich union etc, but they were too expensive by pay monthly, i found a couple of sites to do the legwork like http://www.moneysupermarket.com/motor/, you can put your specific details in and let it do the work for you, came up with some good suggestions!! |

Depends what you mean by jump right up.Do you expect to pay monthly at the same price as annual. If not what is a reasonable surcharge for the extra admin. costs.I'm with Tesco. My annual renewal (comp) is £218.40 including legal protection.If I opt to pay monthly it will be £19.84 a month,total £238.06, slightly less than £20 surcharge. Works out at 9%.I don't think this is too unreasonable. I don't know what you think. |

If you are in the UK try Direct Line, its cheaper on the net and the monthly payments did not make a difference to the price. |

depends on where you live. Also, there shouldn't be a Huge increase when you pay monthly. Check with the insurance company as some of them give a discount if you have the amount taken out of your checking account. In the US, try progressive.com |

Of course monthly premiums are higher. But it shouldnt be too much more, around 10% I should think. Its not really noticable over 10 or 12 months though!

It's the age old conundrum. If you can't afford the insurance, you can't afford the car. Paying monthly means that motorists who pay annually are subsidising you. Why on earth would we want to do that. |
