Are you serious?
The fact that you are asking the question means you probably already know the answer.
Having insurance means nothing as the terms of it will state you must have a suitable accompanying driver so going on your own would invalidate that.
Also, the examiner has the right to report you to the police if you are driving illegally and, if you fail would be almost certain to do so.
Find someone to take you or move your test.
Thanks

yes your examiner will know and all learners that attend unaccompanied are reported to the police |

I really can't believe that some people seem to be almost encouraging you to take the risk. It would be a mind bogglingly silly thing to do. The worst case scenario would be that you would have an accident on the way and finish up in prison - even worse, you could ruin someone else's life in the process.
If the examiner noticed, he would report you to the Police, and rightly so.
Whilst we're at it, let's clear something else up. Some have suggested you phone a driving school and use their car for the day. Well, the only driving instructor who will allow you to use his car for a test without first having seen you drive is an utterly desperate one. I, for one, never allow my car to be used for a test unless I feel the pupil is 'test ready' - not for any money at all. |

Its illegal for a provision licence holder to drive by themselves, so dont do it. |

Your insurance is INVALID if you drive alone. You risk a ban before you've even passed your test. Don't do it! |

No your not allowed to, firstly you could be pulled over on the way, secondly you could have an accident on thev way imagine the trouble you will get into, also other peoples lives you could endanger.
What if you fail? Who will drive you back?
Don't risk it.
It doesn't matter if it's 5 minutes away or 5 hours away it is still illegal. I understand that you are desperate but it's not worth it.
Why can't your driving instructer take you? |

To go by yourself is breaking the law before you have even a licence. Is it worth the risk to do this.
Also if you go alone then your insurance is invalid.
Get another date and be safe not silly. |

If you drive alone your insurance is invalid. To drive illegally to the test centre really is a silly idea. Why don't you get someone to drop your car off at the centre the night before then take public transport or a taxi there for your test. If you pass you can just drive it home again yourself! |

Why would you ask such a silly question? This is why I don't like kids driving. It is privilege to drive not a right. |

You will be a bag of nerves as it is on the day of the test. The last thing you need is to have a stressful drive to the test centre , waiting for a cop to catch you without a competent/legal driver in the car.
Hire a driving instructor from a driving school to bring you there even if you have not been having driving lessons from them.
good luck with the test. |

NO! You will be breaking the law and face prosecution if caught. Ask someone to come with you who has a full UK driving licence, is aged 21 years or over and has held a full licence for 3 or more years. Ensure your car is displaying L plates to the front and rear. You MUST have insurance that covers you to drive as a provisional licence holder. If you drive alone your insurance is invalid! Don't risk it. You must know someone who can help. If not call a driving instruction agency such as BSM or the AA, and ask for them to accompany you. You will only have to pay for the hours you use them.....Don't risk it, be safe and GOOD LUCK! |

Well you could, but not legally.
Can't you change your test date (you can do it online at http://www.dsa.gov.uk but will need to give a few days notice) or get someone to go with you who is 21 or over and has held their full car licence for at least three years? I really don't think you should go alone because if you were to get stopped on the way to your test you have a lot to lose, BUT at the end of the day the choice is yours!
If you can't get someone with a full licence to sit next to you and you decide to be 'naughty' and take your test anyway, then get someone without a licence to sit next to you (as long as they look like they are at least 21), that way if the examiner sees you drive in (or out), everything will seem legit. Don't worry, the examiner won't ask to see their licence (in fact the examiner will only want to see your licence and ask you to sign to confirm you have insurance).
The examiner will not ask you if you were accompanied (as he/she will just assume you were), but if your examiner sees you driving in to the test centre car park alone there will be trouble, although when you arrive they should be out on a test with the person who had the appointment before you (unless the previous person missed their test for some reason).
Once your test is over the examiner will leave you in the car, go inside the test centre and then come out for the next test within 5-10 minutes, so if you fail, you could hang around (maybe wait in the toilet or make a phone call) for 10-15 minutes (or however long it takes for the examiners to leave the test centre), then they won't see you drive off.
I don't think you would be allowed to drop the car off in the morning if your test was in the afternoon as the test centre car parks are usually fairly small.
I hope you decide to do the right thing, but whatever you choose, GOOD LUCK ;)
PS. If you are taking your own car, make sure you take a rear view mirror for the examiner to use. |

not only would it be breaking the law you could land somebody else in deep trouble as your examiner needs to meet the full license driver to take details from him / her you would be better off ringing up a driving instructor to take you even if it costs you money |

Depends on if you are of legal age or not. Since my brother did not need parental consent, we drove the car down there the night before, and walked home, that way it was there when he was ready for the car. If he didn't pass, he was to walk home and then we would pick up the car then. Since he did pass, he just drove it home. |

Yes, you could say someone dropped you off. Then hope you pass, make a fake call and say "ohh i'll drive home by myself then!"
But since it's quite illegal and you run the risk of getting caught and not getting your licence, it's a bit of a bad idea.
Just book your test for another day,
If you didn't even know that, you certainly shouldn't have a licence to begin with. It's common sense road rules! That's why they don't just hand over licences to kids. |
