hi i live in california in irvine and i did my online driver ed course and got a pink slip(certificate in the mail. what should i do next

Your next step is to enroll in a Driver Training class. You will be issued a Certificate of Enrollment in Driver Training. You do not have to start or finish the class. Bring these two Certificates with you plus an Original or Certified true copy of your Birth Certificate or a current or expired US Passport. You will also need to fillout an application form at the DMV(DL 44) and section 8 must be filled out and signed by your parents. The fee is $28.00.

This would probably be to show that you have completed it. It probably means that you will be getting the driver's licence in the mail. If you're not exactly sure about what to do next, call your local DMV branch.
