Well if you were speeding then you will receive points on your licence, most probably 3 points, unless you were going a lot faster than the speed limit, in which case you will be summons to court and it will be up to the magistrates to decide.
You will not receive any points for not having road tax, just a hefty fine. |

Looks like you'll face two offences. Doesn't look good. |

Just because you got flashed doesnt mean you will automatically be prosecuted. The camera may have been out of film, the road conditions might have made it difficult to verify your speed etc. But realistically ... it does'nt look good. Of course there are limited occasions where you can drive a car without road tax e.g. if for instance you were on your way to an MOT test. |

Get a tax disc as soon as possible, hopefully it will demonstrate your remorse and show your intention to stay within the law. You will almost certainly be summonsed but it may nor result in a court appearance. If I were you I would plead guilty and be as sorry as hell for all the trouble you have caused. Fine of low hundreds will probably be your punishment. If this is not the first time you have been caught then double the fine and expect a short ban. Hope it goes well, but we all make our own luck. |

People such as yourself should have a vigilante mob sent to their front door. Your house should then be torched (with you inside).
Sadly, the UK justice system doesn't allow this. Expect to get a few points on your licence, possibly a fine, and if you are really unlucky, you will get to wear a High Visibility jacket for a few weeks whilst you do some charitable work. |

If there is film in the camera then you will get a fine for the speeding offence but if it is found out you are driving without tax then you could get a court summons and a ban. |

Since the link between photographed number plate and driver is via DVLA records they will have noted the lack of tax. They don't have to act within the 2 weeks allowed for the speeding ticket so expect a tax demand with penalty charges. Depending on what camera you may be lucky as unless they go ahead with a ticket they won't contact DVLA. (Gatso take rear plate and 2 flashes, truvelo take front plate and 1 subdued flash)
Get it taxed you cheaspskate! |

first they must by law inform you within 2 weeks that you are going to be prosecuted if they dont tell you within the two week of the offence they cant prosecute . As for the tax it depends how far your out more than 14 days your going to be reported as you cant purchase the tax from the 1st of that month. But on the upside the nobs at DVLA who are students very rarley get around to fines for this if they do it will be £120.hope this helps .UP THE DVLA |

You are fxcked, no offence, but you are, the cops are going to make you pay for that one, bad luck mate!!!
I wouldn't like to say what the concequences are, but I'd imagine it would be more than 3 points and a £60 fine. |

you get banned, heavily fined then sent to jail, where you will probably be passed around like a nude book. bummer. |

OK caught speeding, then the vehicle has no valid tax, which renders your insurance null and void if you have any that is! How long out of date is the tax disc? You only have a few days to get it sorted when it runs out and even then you need a good excuse if stopped.
There is a good chance you will need to answer to this at court. Normally if you were not excessively speeding it would just be £60 fine and 3 points on your license. J |

have you bought a new tax disc for your car? my partner reckons you get a month to get a new tax disc after it expires, but he was told this a few years back and i know its all a bit tighter now....
Possibly a large fine, or your car taken and scrapped, as they have the power to do so now....
You could hope there was no tape in the camera.....but if they flash they usually are working...
Good luck...! |
