I got in an accident and hadn't realized that my car insurance had expired. I had it set up on auto-pay, but when I switched banks I forgot to change my account info through my insurance company. The day of the accident I renewed my insurance but of course by this time it was too late. I take full responsibility for the accident but now am facing a $1,600 bill. I have no problem paying for it but do not have even close to that much money to lose all at once. Is it possible to pay it off slowly or am I screwed?

I personally work for an insurance company who offers subrogation loans in situations like this. Whoever the other party is insured through you would set up a payment plan through their insurance company. Hope this helps!
If the damages are being paid directly to the body shop the only thing I can suggest is charge it to a credit card to pay it in payments. |

Well... did you do damage to the other car? typically auto body shops want their money up front if insurance companies arent in the loop. Maybe try setting up a credit card account? A loan possibly? This way you can pay it off slowly. You may be able to work something out with the body shop, but i doubt it. |
