How can teens afford car insurance??

Get an old car. Try getting like a late 80's or early 90's economy car like a Honda Accord. Get a few vehicles in mind and then go find insurance prices. You may want to try getting a quote online. I am paying less than Â½ of what I was before.

Save up for your insurance, pay 3 months at a time. Keep a good clean driving record and your insurance will go down as you age.

The only way to get your insurance at a lower cost, is to have a parent go on the title and or loan with you. At that point they can list you as a secondary driver and not a full time driver.

Buy a old car, or a big van, especially a diesel vehicle becuase they all have cheap insurance. Oh and look for a car that is not known for having fast pickup.

join the military, this way you know you have job security to pay for your car and insureance, unless you do something totally stupid to get kicked out....

plus you get great health and education benefits too...well in the air force you do :)

Well my best bet is to get a job, and save up for it. I know how costly it is, but most teens r at high risk because very little expierence behind the wheel. Your premiums will go down as you get older, and have no citations.

Well you could get on your parents policy...In my case its a little cheaper. What that is, is the insurance is in your parents name...and the title of the car will have to be in their name too. If something should happen its in your parents name and you would pay the insurance company for the deductible which should be no lower than 500 dollars. Another thing too, don't go gung ho for a sports car...how many miles are on your car and what year it is, is a big factor. I also pay every 3 months which give me time to save my money in between payments. Shop around too...believe me it pays.

If you do get a job have your parents take you to and from work for a while so you can save some money for the insurance or car payment or if you've just gotten your permit have them let you drive your car to work and them drive it home and them come pick you up when you need to go home gives you driving experience and a little time to save money...even ask if your parents could pay even the first payment for you to get a little bit ahead to pay the insurance next time and pay the rents back...hopefully this helps.

At least you know the cost. When I was raising my teens, I bought the insurance for them. I had two teens driving at one time and I had to go to a monthly payment for insurance. Insurance is very expensive and for teens a very high hurdle. If you can get on your parent's policy, it will be cheaper.

Statistics show that getting a car affect students grades adversely. We don't need any more teens out dragging Main St or Hollywood Blvd.
