Most 18 yo don't have a car because neither they or their family can't afford it. |

Very common. In poorer neighborhood almost no one has a car. Young males are higher risk drivers on average. That is why their auto insurance cost more.
More of us need to get out of our cars more and walk or bicycle. If you do that you are one of the luckier ones that is getting needed exercise. Look at it in a positive light. |

Bobbitt, I don't have statistics, but it's pretty common for an 18-year-old guy not to own a car.
Just a few years ago, when our kids were that age, they knew only a couple kids who owned cars, every one of them a gift from their well-to-do parents.
Often families which expect older teens to work may buy a car as part of the incentive to work. Teens headed for a college campus where cars are not necessary seem less likely to have one. |

It is very common. Not many 18 year old's have a good enough job to support car payments, insurance payments and maintenance costs. And then there is the cost of gas and oil.
Buy a motorcycle and spend your money on your education. With a good education you will be able to buy, and pay for, a good car.
