I allowed the father of my child to finance a vehicle under my name a couple of months ago. Very dumb of me btw. But anyway he promised to make the payments and pay the insurance, however, the insurance is cancelled on the vehicle due to non payment and he has not made the payment for this month which was due on abt a week ago. I want to take the car back and make the payments on it, however, he has the keys and is refusing to give it back. What should i do?

Who is the registered owner of the car? If it's him, there is nothing you can do. The only right you have on the vehicle is to make the payments, and have your credit ruined if they aren't made.
If his credit is so bad no bank would touch him, what made you think he would do as he was supposed to for you? Shouldn't have put it in your name, but too late now. A couple of months and he's already driving without insurance. You might call the bank and tell them where the car is, maybe they would repossess it and 'sell' it to you. Worth a try.
On the other hand, if everything is in your name and it's your car, go get it. Have the police meet you there if needed, and have it towed if he won't give up the keys. |

Go to court by law!but if got to play dirty and your name is on the loan or the title /make the payment on the insurance/payment on the loan/have a tow truck pick up the car/change the locks/hide the car till you can clear his name off the loan.play dumb if he ask tell him the bank rep-ode it.GOOD LUCK |

take him to court. if you can prove what you just wrote and your name is on the title and on the work when the car was bought he will have no choice but to turn the car over to you. the judge will make him.. in the mean time if i were you i would make the payments on the car and on the insurance if you can afford to. hind sight is always better than foresight. lesson learned no matter how this mess turns out.
