I was at a red light --when the light turned green a company truck in front of me let his truck roll back (manuel transmission) and caused minor damage to my car but then the driver proceeded to drive off--I did get his tag number and made a police report. At first the company was really acting helpful but they did not want to file it on their insurance but since they have been very hard to get along with--What should I do?

The police, if they did the report right should have gotten the company's insurance information. Get a copy of that report and file with the insurance company yourself. i had to do that when I had an accident because the other driver didn't share his insurance info with me. |

That's a hit and run. Businesses have high insurance limits 6-7 figures. Get in contact with your insurance and file a claim or get a really good attorney and take them to the bank. |

I'd call the police and see what they tell you...or better yet, call the company and threaten them with an attorney. I'd also be prepared to follow through with the attorney. |

i'd suggest you contact the company, in writing, asking to know who was driving the truck at the time and inform them that you plan to file charges for leaving the scene of an accident if they don't deal with you immediately. |

Get an estimate as to how much it will cost to fix the minor damage to your vehicle, and send them a bill for that amount. If they don't pay in a timely manner, ask your insurance company for some help. Be prepared for them to say "The light turned green and you drove into the back of their truck." |

File it under your insurance. However - warning here - if they claim you rolled into them, denying that they rolled backwards, you're not going to be able to prove it unless there was an unbiased witness, and it probably won't get paid from their insurance company. |
