How do I renew my registration sticker without the paper work?

I lost the papers you have to take with you when you get them done... I have no idea how you do it period. And they are really overdue (july 08) so will it cost more? Please help! Thanks!

In Texas it isn't a problem and there is no extra cost for being a few days late. You'll have to go to the local tax office with your vehicle's license number. They'll pull it up from the computer and take care of the renewal. You will need your proof of insurance ID and the fee. They do take plastic but charge a convenience of two or three bucks.

Added: I just saw that expire date. If they ask lie through your teeth and say the car has been stored.

try calling the department of motor vehicles and asking them. I say this because it is different for each state. you could also log on to your states department of motor vehicles website and see if maybe your question on their list of frequently asked questions. Good luck. By the way in AZ you could fill out a form saying your car was broken down from that period till now and then you get a break on your late fees. TX might have the same thing. Something to check into.

I'm trying to figure out what you mean by: Lost the paperwork you have to take with you, etc"? Just to renew you need your copy of the registration (Maybe) Your drivers License. Your plate Number (Tag Number) and a copy of your insurance proof. That's It! You also could do It On-line at your States DMV Web Site possibly called department of transportation or Bureau of public safety. You get what I mean. If you THOUGHT you needed the same Papers you needed when you first registered, wrong. You did mean "Renew Registration" Didn't you? If so, that's all you need.
