How do i avoid disqualification of my uk driving license.
Find answers to your legal question.

How do i avoid disqualification of my uk driving license.

I currently have 12 points on my license (still legal) and was stopped the other day for doing 91mph in a 70mph limit. this will result in 3 more points and a diqualification of my license. I am desperate for this not to happen as i will then lose my job. Any advise please.

Dear Tbone sorry to hear you problem, get a solicitor, but to the other sad sacks who have given you grief, get a life. Most coppers wont look at you for doing 90 on the motorway, cant think when I was in the outside lane and it was slower than 90.
Speed doesnt kill its the git not looking in the mirror who pulls out on you, you bang them if you were doin 68mph, its also the girl on the mobile combing her hair, or the trucker eating his sarnies.
Guys we all make mistakes dont kick some1 when they are down

91 mph! Well, you asked for it didn't you? I think I will feel safer when you are disqualified.

stop speeding so much.

Perhaps you should have thought of that before doing 91mph in a 70 limit! Unfortunately (for you - not for us law abiding drivers) there is no alternative, you will lose your license. Hope your job hunting skills are up to scratch.

Looks like you have lost your license and job - maybe you should of thought about your license earlier and slowed down a bit.

Sorry I cant be of any help

Whenever you get points on your licence, both the police officer and the courts tell you that further points could result in a ban. Knowing that, and knowing that you could also lose your job, you have continued to speed and now you don't want to face the consequences.

Where does it all stop? If they let you off this time, who is to say that you wont just carry on speeding? If you haven't learnt your lesson up to now, why should the courts believe that you will drive within the law if they let you off?

The law applies to everyone and to let someone off while everyone else gets banned isn't fair. As you have continued to flout the law when you already had points, maybe a ban is the only way to teach you that you can't keep breaking the law. Next time, someone could get killed because of your speed. The courts are trying to stop you before that happens.

Sorry but stop getting caught speeding, you should accept this and learn a lesson hopefully. I mean you were sitting on 12 points (points don't make prizes) you'd think you'd have curtailed you're violations till you had them removed.

What makes you think that you should get away without a ban?

Let's face it, you're a liability and a danger on the road, the sooner you're banned the better IMHO

If you go to court, you may end up with a longer ban than if you just do the pleading guilty by post, unless you have a good reason. Not an excuse, but a real reason. If you were a doctor on the way to treat a heart attack victim possibly, but then I don't think you are.
If by "anything" you mean say someone else was driving, then if you are caught, thatr is perverting the course of justice and you could go to jail as well as getting a really big fine and lots of points. When you get out, try getting insurance when you tell them about that!
It is easy to get points these days, but if you are on 6 or 9 and you dont then stick to the limit, you will get more and a ban. I have droiven a long time and got 3 points and then got caught by another camera, but I had the option to do a speed awareness course. So you have been a little unlucky, but actually did not take any notice of the warnings from all the other points.
Put your hands up to it apologise take the ban and STOP SPEEDING unless you weant it to happen again.

dont drive

Well how can you avoid it? Its impossible to avoid it. Why were you going that fast anyway? If it was important then theres a faint chance of not being disqualified but if it was for a foolish reason its gone...

I'm afraid you are very, very likely to lose your licence. You can try pleading the job loss excuse but courts hear this every day and are no longer impressed. Their view, crudely put, is "tough, you should have thought of that earlier.

2 L8 now M8. Should have though of that B4 driving 91 in a 70. Reckon you weren't all that desperate heading down the motorway at 91. Sux 2 B U now. Sorry.

Get a solicitor and try to fight it. Just be ready to go on the dole.

Charlotte
erm you cant! maybe you should have thought about this sooner

All I suggest, is to apologise to the court/judge, and let him know that you will lose your job if disqualified, and that you have a family to support.

Plead your case in court and then
BLOODY SLOW DOWN!!!!!

You need a lawyer to give a good sob story on your behalf. it will cost you a lot of money and may not be successful. If he is and in the unlikely event gets you out of a disqualification you will have a very heavy fine. You know the answer and I know how hard it is sometimes to keep to the 70 mph sped limit on a motorway as do most people if they are honest, but you in future have to stick to it.
A word a consolation I think your points record is wiped clean after disqualification but you will have to declare them on inssurance for about five years

ask do i need to use my seat bealt? or ask is d for drive? or well.u get the idea

**Kesha**
you were stopped so unfortunately there is no getting out of it. if it was a speed camera you could have begged somone to take the points for you so you wouldnt go over the 12 points mark.

I think you need to lose your license thats the only way youll understand what it means to you and to appreciate that you dont speed. Unlucky that you will lose your job, but you obviously didnt care about that.

Get a really good solicitor, the AA used to provide them free.

I have a friend who has been caught speeding a few times and had 12 points on his licence, he went to court, took a letter from his employer stating that he needed his licence as he drives to different sites daily in his work. he didnt lose his licence n this is the 2nd time he has pled his case n won. They dont like to see people lose their job.
