How do i find out address of car registrated owner? ?

if you're in the uk, you don't / can't. - THIS IS NOT CORRECT, see below, i was wrong, the form number is below.
data protection stipulates that you as the public don't have access.
only police, insurance companies, etc have access & should not give it out to avoid malicious reasons.

if it's due to an accident, you pass the reg thru your insurer, & they'll try, but don't always get it if it's been incorrectly registered - been there & lost out, sorry.

well, i learn something new every day, it's changed since i last tried this - the others are correct - the form is v888 on dvla website.

i notice one answerer says it's a myth & you can only do it if you're a company. that's what i used to think until i looked on their website which tells you how & what you can do - not tried it, so i don't know if they will give you the info for genuine reasons.... but read carefully, as 'a copy of your request may be sent to the other reg keeper'.

why would you want to do that for ? unless the other driver has committed a crime against you & even if they did go to the police & let them sort it for you ! your find it hard to get an address due to the data protection act unless you know someone who works for the dvla or the police but then it still not legal doing it that way & in my expierience you cant be guaranteed that the driver who's got the vehicle hasnt always changed names on the vehicle documents although it is a legal requirement ... sorry cant be anymore help

You can't, Data Protection Act 1998.

For the answers saying DVLA will do this was a fee, don't waste your Â£2.50, they will not give it to you.

You can, but ONLY if:

You are a V.A.T registered business.
You pay Â£2,000 to join the D.V.L.A. list.
You pay Â£25 for every number you wish to check.
You can prove "legitimate cause" to need the information.

Otherwise - you can't.
Those who say you can are just supporting a myth based on incorrect information.

DVLA will tell you, if you complete their request form, pay their fee and provide a genuine reason for your need to know - for instance a hit & run accident in a car park. They will not tell you for "social reasons".

You will need to complete the V888 and send to the DVLA explaining the full reasons why you need that data. If you have a justified reason for needing it then they should assist.

I dint know your reasons for wanting to find out the owner of a car but generally if it is for criminal or accident damage then you should really go through the police / insurance company.

apply to the DVLA and they will supply the owners information, you must pay a fee, and you must have a legit reason for knowing info.(hit and run or incorrect details given by offending driver) being just nosey would not get info.
