I have a standard driving licence and want to apply to be an ambulance care assistant but on the application form it states I must hold a C1 licence! Please help

Your standard car licence will cover you for C1 ( 7.5 tonner class) if held before 1997. Or it gives you the 'Provisional entitlement ' for the next class up. You will have to take another driving test ( at your own expense) to get the C1. Obtain necessary forms from your local post office ( before they are all sold off!!!). Then send to DVLA with some of your English / Scottish Pounds & apply for lessons locally ( look on yell.com for HGV instruction in your area) |

C1 is entitlement to drive up to 12 tonnes are you not after a D1 as this entitles you to drive a mini bus up to 14 passengers |

I know the problem, Im looking too do the same as you, when you're bored type in a search engine 'HGV Training" and it will give you a list of companys that do C1 etc training, be warned that it does cost an arm and a leg. |

contact your local drivers bureau. They will tell you what you have to do to get the license. There are different requirements, but they should guide you through the process. |

dunno. what's a C1 license? I'd guess it means commercial, but not for tractor-trailer, meaning valid for any solid chassis vehicle of a 1+ton capacity. Terminology is probably peculiar to your state. |

Go to your local police station and get a licence application form. Then go to your doctor with the form as you will have to have a medical declaration completed and signed to drive a vehicle of that class. Then you apply to your local licence authority for the licence. Good luck. |

Apply for the B4, pass it. Practice for the C1. Fail it. Take it again, on a tuesday. Get a date. Shake your money maker in the afternoon. Repeat. Ur welcome. |
