Depends!! 3 years for the usual endorsable offences....and 10 years if it's a drink driving offence.
After 4 years, you then have to pay to get the endorsments removed!!! |

This question came up last week. Just type in 'Points on Driving Licences' in the "Search for Questions" box and you'll get loads of ready-made answers, and you could have saved yourself 5 points, oy vey! |

In most states, at least five years. There is a statute of limitations at seven years though and most insurance companies can only go back seven years. It does very from state to state though. |

I don't know about points, but I know that the offenses you get convicted for stay on there forever. Insurance companys only charge for the last 3 to 5 years worth though. |

3 years. |

The points get removed after 4 years but do not count after 3 - if you get 12 points in any 3 year period you get a ban.
This is for normal offenses such as speeding etc ... Drink driving is different.
Details can be found here

The answer to your question depends on where you live. In some states in the US, Minor moving violations only stay for 3 years while major violations stay for 5. Other states allow them to stay for up to 7 years (generally the max). This is how the insurance companies determine the amount to surcharge and how long they can do it. (BTW just becouse a point may have come off your driving record, there are timeframes of which insurance companies can continue to charge you for them) |

They are legally valid for 3 years but actually remain on your licence for four years before you can have them removed by the DVLA. |

I believe that under the totting up process it's 3 years. But you cannot get the record of it removed from your licence for 4 years. |
