I have geico direct, I was in an auto accident on 1/30/09 . The police advised us to handle it with each other because it was under $400 in damage. When the lady got her estimate it was $576 plus car rentals toal of $656. She seems shady and only communicates through mail and gave me a fax number. She also mails me letters from one address and request me to send the money to a diffeent one. How long do I have to report this, wil I get in trouble with Geico if I tell them why I'm just now reporting it?

Generally your policy will state to report a loss "as soon as practicable" or within 91 days from the date of the accident.
You would not get in trouble for reporting it now. |

You won't get in trouble, but I'd certainly report it now.
In most states, you won't even get a surcharge, as the payout is under the surcharge threshhold in most states. |
