How long does it take for a speeding ticket to come off your insurance?

It is surchargable for 3 years from the date it was added to your policy. It would only have been added on the renewal after the ticket was posted on your record. So, as an example, if the ticket was posted on your record on 9/1/04, your renewal was 11/1/04, the ticket would have been added on 11/1/04 & will not come off your policy until your 11/1/07 renewal. If you are on a 6 month policy, it MAY come off 6 months early depending on when the ticket was posted & dates of your renewals. Tickets, accidents & age do not change on your policy mid-term, only on the renewal date. I hope this helps you.

You have to realize that the DMV and insurance records are two different things, and each has its own policy. As far as I know, no insurance companies use records that are more than 7 years old for calculation rates; some set the limit at 5 years, some at three.

I most of the states where I've lived, the violations stay on your record forever, but the points that were lost or gained (depending on the state's method of assigning points), generally come off after three years. Check with your insurance carrier and your DMV.

my suggestion would be to call your agent and ask them about it. i have state farm and they left a speeding ticket on my insurance for like 5 years until i asked them about it. they are not going to just start charging you less unless you talk to them. it might also help to get a quote from another insurance company and tell them youre thinking of changing. they will usually match the competitors rate.

Typically, 5 yrs. You could call your local State Farm and ask them. Some insurances are 7-10.

My fiance's father works for that insurance company. Sighhh. It should be about 3 years. They really like to stick it to ya! They say if you go to traffic school they will remove it, fat chance! So it's a good thing you didn't fall for that one. It makes no difference, don't fall into the scam the insurance company has set up. Just wait it out, while the insurance company rakes in the dough. Oh and tell your husband to SLOW DOWN! :)
