My friend crashed going 100 down an arterial. You can NOT react NEARLY fast enough if someone/something decides to cross in front of you and you could KILL someone or yourself. I hope your talking about the highway, and even then, with all of the unmarked police cars around, you better be ready to dish out for a FAT ticket. Getting your license taken away should be the least of your concerns. There's a reason that teenage boys have the highest insurance rates!! |

Just like the person said above depends on which state, I know in California for doing over 100 your license is suspended for 6 months. |

It's not necessarily over 100 mph. It can be under that and you can get ticketed for reckless driving. But If you go over 100 they will just arrest you. |

I almost found out one time. Late for work in the summer of 02'...just out of high school. I was flying down a back road at night in my Grand Prix GTP doing about 140 - 145. Passed a car that looked kind of like a crown vic. Well i buzzed by him and saw him make a u-turn. At that point I about crapped myself because other than traffic violations I was a pretty good kid, but I decided I would keep going as fast as I could unless he could catch up with me. Well I got to a stop sign about two miles where I passed the cop and turned left instead of right thinking I could fool the cop. I couldn't see the cop behind me at that point so I thought I lost him. Well about a minute later he gets right on my tail, like within a couple of feet from my bumper (state cop) and he has all his lights turned out. Headlights and all. He rides my bumbper for a minute, probably running my plates, and then all of a sudden he does another u-turn and halls *** the other way. I really don't know why he didn't pull me over but I thank God he didn't. I would have went to jail for sure! I admit it was incredibly dumb and I will never do it again! |

It depends on your judge handling your case. |

why were you speeding in the first place?
isn't it just 3 points and possibly a 3 month to 3 year driving ban, dependant on your speed |

Depends on the state, and were you were caught.
A New York man recently had his ability to drive in Ontario revoked for 7 day, and his car impounded for 7 day, for being 50 km/h (30 mph) over the posted speed limit. The fine, not counting towing and impound/storage charges, are over $1000. If/When convicted, NY may then impose additional penalties. |

depends on how many points you have and what state you are in. if youre convicted of wreckless driving it could be taken away for a year, or you get get thrown in jail for 30 days.
i know in GA, its like a $500 ticket and you get to spend a saturday in drivers ed.
next time, pay better attention. i know, i drive too fast too, but you just need to keep your eyes peeled. |

I was reduced to 2 points and 187.00 from 357.00 and 4 points
For all these whiny women worried about other peoples speed, I can drive better at a hundred than you can with an eye liner pen in your eye staring at a mirror. |
