I am in the middle of a research paper about endangered animals. I can across something that said to slow down while passing trees so you don't hit an animal. But i can't find anywhere how many animals die in one year from being hit by a car.

if you come across a dead animal on the street, do you know where to report its death so that they can place it into the database you are looking for? Those are the people you can ask for your statistics.
If you don't know who to report it, then nobody else knows, thus there isn't a database.

If everyone was to slow down while passing a tree then traffic would be crawling everywhere because there are trees everywhere.
As for the number of animals that die from being hit by vehicles it would be impossible to find an accurate source as not all animal hits are reported. You can call your local department of highways and ask if they have an estimate,
