Would think that your instructor will evaluate you on the first lesson and then give you an idea as to how many it will take for you to pass the test.
Some people have a natural ability for things mechanical whilst others could try for years and never pass. |

As many as it takes to feel confident on the road, most people have a basic understanding of driving after 10 or so lessons, but the lessons after that are all about building up confidence, keeping up eith speed limit, knowiing when to pull out of a junction etc. 45 lessons are what is recommended but not many people take as many as that and some people take more than that |

As many as it takes before your instructor feels like you are ready but they usually recomend you have at least 30 hours driving experience before putting in for your practical. It took me a year and a half to be ready for mine, my brother had just 10 lessons before he passed his so it all depends on you as a person. If you are a fairly confident person you may find driving easy and get the hang of it staright the way. Everybody is different. It takes as long as it takes. |

There aren't a set number of lessons, but a certain number of actual driving hours you need to take before you can take the test if you are under 18 (in most states). In Ohio it's 50 hours, in addition to 10 hours of after hours driving (anytime between 1/2 hour before sunset and 1/2 hour after sunrise).
After that, it would depend on how comfortable you feel about attempting the test. |

Unfortunately there is a simple answer to this.
Everybody is different and it will depend on you.
It will take what it takes.....BUT average is around 25-35 hours
when taken in segments, but it could be more or less!
Just listen, and practise, and good luck!! |

As many as needed to make you a competent driver, capable of passing the test. |

The short answer is as many as it takes to be ready :)
Here in France, you must take 20 hours of lessons minimum before being eligible to try for the test, so I guess that might be a good guideline. |

The rule of thumb is 2 hours for every year of your life. But that's an average - which means 50% take more (a lot more!) and 50% take less.
But it's really not something to worry about unless you are trying to work out a budget. Don't put pressure on yourself, take some lessons and see how it goes. |

It depends how much experience you have had driving before hand but can take anything from 12 to 100+ |

Everyone learns at a different rate. Average number of hours here according to the DSA is 45hrs + 22hrs private practice. However if you have ability and have regular tuition (I usually advise a 2 hour lesson per week), 30-35hrs. Still could be less if you can co-ordinate and read your books ie., The Highway Code. It does not go off your age!!! (Although being older sometimes takes a few more hours!!!). |
