Depends what comes out the exhaust etc, but it's much cheaper to tax it for 12 months, then claim 6 months back.

12 months tax is Â£125.

6 months is about Â£68.50p I think. Half the annual rate plus a fiver or so. Costs more cause you can't afford the full years tax.
