How much should I expect my insurance to go up when my daughter starts driving?

She's almost 16. I have no tickets/accidents, so my rates are pretty low.

If she is a secondary driver, or occasional driver, the rates do not go up that much. In Canada when you turn 16 you can get your learners permit, during this time she doesn't actually need to be on the insurance. Once she graduates to a G2 (which means she can drive by herself) she does need to be listed on your policy. But rates will only increase by a couple hundred a year. Often there are good student discounts offered by insurance companies as well. This is how it worked for my girlfriend at the time. When i was place on my dad's policy, rates went up about 1000 a year, and that was with a good student discount. My gf was only about 300 a year. Be thankful you have a daughter. :)

anywhere from 100 or so .If she has good grades get a copy fir your insurance carrier and give them a copy. Rates go down with good grades. Be thankful you have a daughter driving wait till its a boy. Prices MUCH higher
