I am 16 and i just got my first ticket for going 75km in a 50 zone
will my insurance go way up now?
and will my parents have to come with me to pay my ticket or anything like that?
Additional Details
I have my own insurance and pay about 2000 a year for it plus the payments on my car, i still go to school so i can only work part time and i can barely afford it as it is without a hike in insurance. the ticket was 150$ and i live in canada.

You dont say where you are only km suggests not in the USA. seems it is entirely up to the local authorities that issue the tickets. if they have a point system and notify your ins co - then yes - your rates might go up. considering your age the police/court may send your parents a letter advising them of the ticket. i live in California US and my 16 year old daughter got a ticket and the court summoned her, me and her mother to ALL appear before a judge. he chewed us out good. my daughter decided NOT to do that again! he could have taken her license until 18 - but he didnt. |

If you're on your parents' insurance, THEIR insurance will go up. If you were driving legally without your parents in the car (in other words, you have a regular driver's license, not a learner's permit or restricted license), then you can go pay the ticket on your own -- but I'm wondering how you can afford it. The more you were speeding, the higher the fine usually is. |

On this side of the pond, some states allow you to attend traffic school
and avoid the points on your insurance, thus the higher rate the parents will pay
you may end up having to pay the 'same' amount as the ticket - HOWEVER
you avoid the points and the embarrassment
check with your judicial system (where you need to pay the ticket)
and see if that is an option - and do it BEFORE that puppy is due
