I'm an 19 y/o male. I already know I made a bunch of big mistakes in my life, I just want to know how much this portion will cost.

it is gonna go up quite a bit and it will stay that way for 5 yrs I think is the time frame, when I screwed up and got mine (about 8 yrs ago) it cost over $1000 in court, plus driving classes, alcoholic classes, and I had to do community service too! Insurance went up over $100 per month on top of what it already was, oh yeah and I was on a restricted license too, could only drive for work mon-fri from 6am to 6pm!!!! think that was for the first year

Basis insurance here for a DUI (after the manditory 1 year licence suspension) starts at over $5000/year (for minimum coverage) |

I live in Canada. Automatic 1 year no license regardless of whether you need to get to work or not. $1000 fine, mandatory drivers course and the insurance companies put you as a high risk drive which means about $450 per month or over $5000 per year for insurance no matter what type of vehicle you drive. |

More than likely you are going to have to carry "assigned risk insurance" which it 2 to 3 times more expensive that your regular insurance. Did you get busted for minor in possesion too? |

I have progressive Insurance. They filed an SR-22 for me and my insurance went up ZERO dollars. I was shocked. Check with them. Might save you some $. |
