How old do you have to be to get your license in VA after getting your permit?

I am getting my permit soon in VA and i'm wondering can I get my paper license after I have my 45 hours and pass behind the wheel?

You must be a minimum of 16 years and 3 months of age to qualify for a Virginia driver license.

Applicants under the age of 18 must have written consent from their parent or legal guardian. The consent is given when the parent or legal guardian signs the driver license application.

If the applicant is between 16 years, 3 months and 18 years of age you may drive without a licensed driver beside you if you have held a Virginia learner permit for a minimum of 9 months and you present your driver education certificate.

Learner permit holders under the age of 19 must hold a learner permit for a minimum of 9 months or until they turn 19 years of age before they can apply for a Virginia driver license.

Permit holders over the age of 19 must hold a learner permit for a minimum of 30 days before they can apply for a Virginia driver license or present proof of completing a State of Virginia approved driver education program.

You have to have held the permit for 6 months and be 16 before getting your license.

The guy above is wrong... I just got mine. You have to get your permit anytime after you turn 15 and a half. You have to hold the permit for 9 months, take a driver education course in school, and take a behind-the-wheel class through the local county. You can get your license after you've completed those as long as you're above 16 and 3 months old. However, (loophole) if you're 19 or older then you only need to hold your permit got 30 days.
