It would be much easier to just read the steps yourself than to type it all or copy/paste all of the individual steps that is required here. It would just take up too much space.

Specifically, it depends on where you live and how old you are.
Here's how it generally works for a high school student:
Once you successfully complete Driver's Ed, you get a blue card.
With that card, you can now go to any driving school and complete about 6 hours of practice driving with an instructor. Then, you get your permit. After 6 mo with your permit, you can get your license if you pass the state road test.
I live in New Jersey, and thats how it works for us, teens. It may differ slightly. And its def different if you're over 18 or 21

depends on what state you live in. In Connecticut you go to DMV and take a permit test when you are 16 or older then have to wait a year or until your 18th birthday, whichever comes first, to get your license. rules vary state to state though so it would be helpful to know where you live.

Permit is different from state to state.

PennDot=Pennsylvania department of transportation.
You take a 18 question quiz on the computer. You need 15 right to pass the test for your permit. Then they give you a temporary permit until they send it in the mail. It costs $30 to take the test and you could take it once a week.

NJDot=New Jersey
You take a 50 question quiz. It is much harder to get a permit in NJ.

Every state has different rules.

Get the book to study for your permit from the saame place you got your license plate or where your parents got the license plate and registration from.

FOr the drivers license. Pennsylvania residents muct drive with permit for 6 months. Only 1 driver/passenger is allowed with you and they must be someone who is 21 years old with a drivers license like your parent. You cannot drive past 11pm or before 6 am too. After the six months, the passenger signs a paper saying you practiced driving for 50 hours total. Then you go back to the same place you got your permit and make a appointment for the test. The drivers test is for the drivers license. You drive a short distance to a stop sign and do some parking and yielding.
