How to obtain a drivers lisence in CT?

I got my permit last Saturday. Im in driving school right now and im almost done. My question is i've heard if you got your permit after August 1, 2008 and you took the 25 question knowledge test and passed to get your lisence you just need to do the driving portion, is this correct? Also with a permit can you drive on a highway?

You can drive anywhere with your permit provided you have an adult licensed driver in the front seat with you. Yes you just need to pass the driving portion but it would be a good idea review the rest booklet sa much of the information in there applies to the actual driving test.r
