How to prove we're not at-fault for this accident?

We were traveling along a straight stretch of road when we were rear-ended. Should be 100% the other driver's fault right? Wrong, we are being assessed 100% fault. We did a U-turn about 100 metres back so the other driver is claiming we cut him off and he had no chance to avoid us. He claims the impact occurred just past the U-turn, not 100 metres down further. The insurer for both drivers has sided with the other driver's version because they feel the likely cause was an unsafe U-turn; we feel it is irrelevant since we completed it some 15-20 seconds ago. There are no witnesses and no photos. It is also now two months later so getting physical evidence from the scene is unlikely. Are there any points we can raise that would show that our version is the truth?

In this case.. you lose. don't be making U-turns like that any more.

Unfortunately, if you admit to making that U-turn, then you will likely lose if there is no other evidence or witnesses.

You are going to bite the bullet on this one. You made a u turn and it was unsafe other wise you wouldn't have gotten hit.

well where i live doesnt matter what you do if your hit from behind its the driver who hit you fault you can stop at a green light and if you get hit would still be other driver fault it goes back to the limit of space al car should follow id get a lawyer and fight it
