I Want My Mom To Add Me To Her Policy For Her Car...Her Insurance Now Is 140 Every 3 Months, She Seems To Think That It Will Quaddruppal( Sorry I Know I Spelled That Wrong) Her Insurance...We've Got Insurance Through Farm Bureau, And In Kentucky....How Much Do You Think It Will Really Raise It? And If I Went Tomorrow To Get Me Added On, Would I Have To Pay The Full Insurance Price, Or The Difference Or None Of It?? Please Help

Anyways... Yes... Most likely the insurance will increase ALOT. Your mother is correct. The insurance company most likely will only require a portion to all of the payment for a minor to be added on. |

The only way that it will rise if there is an extra car which will label you as the primary driver. If she has only one car and is labeled as the primary driver there will be basically no or minimum change. Went through two teenagers getting their license and have not seen a big increase in insurance. In fact recently helped them both buy a new car and there rates are comparable to mine, I have had no tickets nor accidents in over 20 years |

Well like your mother is right because of your age 17 she is right you are considered a high risk driver until you turn 25,and that is in every state not just Kentucky,and the reason for that kids your age do not act responsible on the road do not pay attention and when you have friends with you either show off or act like total idiots causing either accidents or death get my point now.
That is easy for you to find out just go on line to were your mother has her insurance and find out how much it would cost her more to add you too it all states differ by law so you have to check that out yourself,and of course its going to go up you think it is going to stay the same once she adds you to it not hardly girlfriend it will definitely go up and your age is the major factor into how much it will rise. |

do you have your own car? and you want to add your car to her policy? i dont get it, you have to explain. Or are you saying you want to drive your moms car? anyway you look at it the insurance will skyrocket. shes not just making this up.
and you cant just walk or drive to the insurance agency and ask them to add you. Its not your policy, your mother needs to add you. and, chances are, they dont know you exist. if you start telling them you want to drive her car, they will notify underwriting and they will give your mom two options, add you for a bunch of money, or exclude you and you will never drive a car listed on her policy ever again.
I suggest you get your own car, and your own insurance, your a big kid now, right? |
