My eyes are really bad, but I don't have glasses, so will they flat out just tell me I need to get glasses and come back later, or will they just let me get my license with a restriction on it?

OK, I can see fine on a daily basis, but I just can't do this eye test crap. so what happens if I can't pass it?

You must visit an optician and seek their advice. If you fail the eye test, you will not be allowed to enter the car and carry out the practical test. There are no exceptions so, as I said, get an eye test well in advance and tell you optician you will be sitting your test.

I'm pretty positive that if you were to fail your eye exam to get a license, they would not allow you to receive a license to drive until you passed the eye exam. The license division wouldn't want to be in a frying pan for letting people who can't see drive. |

They will ask you to read the letters on the chart. If you can read them without glasses, you get an unrestricted license. If you can read them with glasses, you get a license that says it's only valid when you're wearing glasses. If you can't read them, you don't get a license.
If you can see fine on a daily basis, I don't see why you wouldn't pass. You don't have to have 20/20 eyesight, you just need to be able to see the cars around you. |

They will give you a form and not let you take your test until you get your license depends on if they make you do the vision test or not. |

My gosh don't put others lives in danger. Please get some glasses!
These days they make contacts that are really comfortable. If you can't stand the thought of glasses, get some contacts. Or you could just wear glasses when driving. Then take them off when you're not driving. |
