just tell the guy who administors the test how you fell about the whole thing |

just practice! find an empty street somewhere and practice backing up straight and three point road turns, then when you take the test you will be more experienced. Other than that just make sure you do the basics during the test(don't speed, use your signals)
Good luck! |

Have a mental rehearsal. Mentally walk through all the necessary steps in your mind - right from opening the car door, checking the comfort of your seat, putting on your safety belt, adjusting the rearview mirror, turning the ignition key, going into the gears, stepping onto the accelerator... the full works. Try to recall some of the actual hands-on practices that you've had. Try to recall exactly what it feels like doing the right thing. Remember that feeling and then associate it with the actual actions you've done. Remember all the instructions that your driving instructor may have given you before. Replay all that in your mind. Take a few deep breaths once in a while. There you go. You go Girl. |

first rule after u put on ur seat belt is dont b nervious. second rule is check all 3 mirrors, and then look ova ur shoulder b4 backing out. 3rd rule dont b nervious. ull do fine. watch ur speed. use ur turn signal 1/2 block b4 turning. stop behind the stop sign ( if there is white cross walk lines on the road b4 a stop sign stop just b4 them) . get familiar with the car u are going to drive b4 u go. it helps. keep the radio off. if u see the instructor isnt putting on his/her seat belt ask them too. make sure the car is cleaned out; a junky car will get u a negative instructor. good luck |

First of all, you should talk to your mom and tell her that if she wants you to do well, she should take it upon herself to give you as much practice time as you can possibly get in these next two weeks. Also, the people who are testing you often times try to get into your head and make you nervous, as long as you feel confident that you know what you are doing, have gotten enough practice, and DON'T let them get to you, you will do fine. Just stay calm and focused, and above all: do your best. You can always take the test more than once. It doesn't sound like you're in too much of a hurry. Good luck!:) |

Dont be so hard on yourself. I have this saying that if you have no self-confidence and you always think that you can't do something, than you never will. Just go into your test with a positive attitude and a friendly smile - you'd be surprised how far those two things will get you. Tell the adm. how you are feel but dont let it interfere with your outlook on the whole thing. Youll do fine! I wish you the best of luck! |

Just try not to be nervous! stay calm and do what the driver instructor tells you to do.if your nervous, you might end up messing up.i know you wouldnt want that. but if you feel that you are not ready to take it,you can always reschedule it. |

Actually, I barely talked with the chick was there when I took my road test. Practice coming to a complete stop, your turns, and especially parallel park. I had my Dad run me through the exact test they would give me and critique me on it after I was done. |

I do not know what state you are taking your test in but the advice is the same. Know what the test consists of. Find out what the examiner looks for. Practice those things the proper way. Preparation is the key to overcome nervousness.
Here is an example. In the place I took my test, the examiner would get in the car and tell you to drive through this stop sign and turn right. This is on a closed course. The Stop sign was only about ten feet away from where you were.
Many a nervous first timer would drive right through the stop sign and turn right. They got gigged for not stopping. You don't know how many people I talked to that did exactly that. Well, when I went I expected that and did indeed stop at the stop sign.
Most examiners are not there to fail you but they are there to see if you are ready for the road. Ready for the road includes being smart enough not to go through a stop sign without stopping and looking both ways no matter what else is happening. Do not let him distract you. Do not rush through. Take your time. If he gives you an instruction that you do not understand ask him to explain. Do not assume you understood what he wanted. You have to be a bit assertive.
Oh, yes. I almost forgot. Whenever you put the car in Park also put on the parking brake. When you put the car into Drive release the brake. Some gig you for that, too.
Make sure you perform every complex maneuver by the numbers. This includes three point turns. If you practice these always do them step by step the same way. You are less likely to screw up something you do the same way repeatedly.
That's about it. Don't be scared. Even if you think it is all going horribly wrong do not come unglued. The examiner is well experienced and can see those who know the right way even if they are a bit nervous and are kind of screwing up. He will give you a break if he feels you know what you are doing. Too often people make a mistake and then fall apart when actually, the examiner was not going to reject them for that mistake.
Often if you make an error he will ask you what was wrong. If you know why it was wrong he may let you slide. If you have no idea why it was wrong he will not.
RELAX! What is the worst thing he can do to you? Fail you? So what? So then you go back on your learner's permit and practice some more. You will not be flogged at the stake, you will not get jail time. You will not be expelled from school or sold into slavery. In other words if you pass you get your license if you fail you stay as you are now.
That is not that big a deal.

Don't stop on a railroad haha 'cause I was nervous and ended up doing that.
And when I told my sister to avoid that she did but ended up stopping on a crosswalk haha
So aviod those two things.
And just relax. Pretend the person is a relative or something and when they tell you where to drive don't be nervous and over-think things because you'll end up going left instead of right. |
